Enrolling into Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Christine has been a massive support during my diploma studies! I couldn't have asked for a better trainer! I'll miss having our trainer support days! She has been so understanding and made our classes fun! I felt i come to her for help whenever I needed it and she would help explain tasks for me if I was stuck really taking the time to make sure I understood what to do. I found the transfer process really simple and my trainer sat down with me and went through my credit transfers and also helped me apply for RPL for one of the units I was partway through. I felt that by the time I was starting the next unit I had already progressed further than I had before. I find that the consistency in having the same trainer every week really helpful and the availability of a one-hour classroom to go through what I need help with is much more useful than a lecture where I am one in a hundred.

I was worried i would have to redo everything, but my Trainer sat with me and helped me worth through my previous work and turn it into a successful RPL application. I ended up being further through the course than i thought. When I then went onto actually starting new units, my trainer adapted the course, so I wasn't repeating anything and supported me in person at work to help me work through the units.

ELC Training supports their students by providing a “workplace-based training” day minimum once a fortnight for students, and I personally have seen the value in this and appreciate the hands-on support. Not only do the students get more contact time to hone their practical skills, but the pressure has been taken off senior staff as there isn’t as high an expectation to teach/supervise students as what has been experienced with traditional RTO models. The dedication to be sending Trainers out in person to our regional site only speaks to the passion and ethos of ELC Training. In addition to the in-person contact, students have also been provided with the ability to schedule online catchups with Trainers to discuss their study and receive one-on-one help. This is allowing our students who might require more support to access trainers when it suits them as often as required.
