The Diploma of School Aged Education and Care is an in depth qualification that will help you advance your career working in Outside School hours and vacation care. It will allow you to take on higher levels of responsibility in the day-to-day running of a regulated school age education and care service in Australia.

Within the Diploma, it will give you further knowledge on how to implement and manage learning programs for school aged children and support you in supervising staff and visitors. It will assist you in designing, planning and evaluating learning programs for school aged children and give you highly sought after skills, knowledge and experience in childhood development that services are seeking in highly skilled educators.

Placement Hours of Work

To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of least 280 hours of work in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency. The total number of hours may be applied collectively across all units of competency that include the requirement for workplace hours.

International Delivery

This course is not currently available to international students.

All applications to enrol in our accredited Early Childhood courses are subject to the selection process and course student capacity constraints, there is no guarantee of acceptance into a course. As part of the application process, you will be enrolled in a “holding class” titled “ECEC Eligibility Check” in which you will be required to complete a LLN test and provide the following documentation: South Australian Working with Children Check, Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate (includes second vaccination), RRHAN-EC Fundamentals and Masterclass Certificate, Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (Diploma Only) and Previous Qualifications (Diploma Only). Your application will then be reviewed and you will be contacted regarding your application outcome. There is no fee incurred for the application process.
